You’re absolutely right.

My old excuse, to escape of such people, “I have a Mac, never used Windows”, no longer works as lots of people are getting Macs, remembering what I used to say to them and are now coming back to me for newbie help (even if we haven’t talked in ages or just remembered to add my email to the IM client - most of the time I have to ask who they are).

Happens to me all the time. I wonder if people realize how annoying it is to be only remembered as ‘the computer guy/girl’ and be pestered with questions frequently, when we’re in our own free time.

I don’t mind helping out friends or family, but when it’s someone who I don’t even know very well and who hasn’t said a word to me in 5 years it’s just ridiculous.

And yeah, people love to ignore Google exists. I guess it’s too much work for them to bother doing some research. And, you know, user manuals are just sooo hard to read…
