Hey Vodafone, you’re making the iPhone suck a little more

Let me explain why: everyone knows the iPhone does not have mms capability, the Big Giant Head decided on his own that it’s not a feature the rest of the humans need (guess what dude? we use it!).
I can handle that, I’ll just send an email with an attached picture if I want to share something, the problem is that it’s not as immediate as it was with mms, because people don’t check their email all the time, imagine that!
But my problem right now is with Vodafone, you see, I’ve had phones without mms capability in the past, but if someone sent me an mms what I got was a sms telling me to go to the site so that I could view the mms. This was years ago. Vodafone knows I have an iPhone, I bought it from them, so they must’ve decided that if you choose to have such device you also choose to never ever receive mms, not even in the old fashioned way! This is bullshit. I did the test myself, I sent an mms from my TMN phone and waited for something to arrived on the Jesus Phone… and I’m still waiting.
So Vodafone, bring that feature back, I don’t want people to think I’m ignoring them alright? You’re making the iPhone suck a little more than it already does!

It’s a pleasure to find another Portuguese with an interest in technology and the Web 2.0 tools.
I have an iPhone myself and I still don’t think it sucks. I have been reading a few comments of people disapproving it but I think it’s amazing. I don’t understand the criticism quite well. Of course it’s not perfect but what is perfect in this world?
Finally, I would like to invite you to join the most vibrant Portuguese community about the use of technology for teaching and learning. It’s called Interactic 2.0 and you can find it here: http://interactic.ning.com/
You’re welcome!
Joao

Hey João I’m sure you’ll find a lot more Portuguese web 2.0 enthusiasts, just take a look at my links pages ;).
I don’t think the iPhone generally sucks, I wouldn’t buy one if it did, but some parts of it do, like the lack of MMS, no video recording, lack of bluetooth functionality, the lo-res camera…
Of course the rest of it is so great that *almost* makes us forget what we are missing, until we need it.

There is a bluetooth functionality in iPhone 3G. I haven’t used it yet but it’s got bluetooth technology. I read somewhere that it isn’t very good but I need to try it myself.
iPhone’s main interest is the access to the Internet, especially to communication tools like email and social networking sites or microblogging tools like Twitter and I am happy with that so far.
I’ll have a look at your link pages.
